It’s fifty years since the recording of the first Angels single – ‘Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again’ has become one of the hallmarks of Australia’s recent cultural history. It could well be called the alternative National Anthem.

For over half a century the band has been one of the most defining standard bearers of the baby boomer generation… at a time when Australia was continually growing its own very unique and laconic post-war identity.

The Angels are celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the song with this new commemorative film clip.

The origin of the ubiquitous call and response for which this song is now world famous remains a mystery. That interaction between the band and the crowd has become a universal expression of the native, larrikin Aussie character for which the country itself is renowned… No Way, Get F$*ed, F$*k Off!
