Light Rail construction due to start in Kingsford

The CBD and South East Light Rail is coming to Kingsford, with the last station (the Kingsford Terminus) located near the front of the Juniors (click here for a map). Construction for the Kingsford Terminus will commence at the beginning of April and will bring many benefits to the local community. Designed and constructed by the ALTRAC Light Rail consortium, the Light rail will integrate with local and express bus services to meet the growing transport needs of the South East.

Whilst this is an exciting phase of development, we recognize that construction may cause some inconvenience for our members, particularly as you will see changes to parking arrangements. There will be no interruption to any of the services the Juniors in Kingsford provide and we look forward to welcoming you to our club as usual.

At the beginning of April, construction of the Kingsford Terminus will start in the middle of Anzac Parade, between The Juniors and the Nine Ways roundabout. This will mean that the two car parks in front of The Juniors will be removed. The Juniors have a great long standing working relationship with Randwick City Council and have been working hard to provide alternative parking options in the area given the removal of the car parks. Randwick City Council has commenced building a new car park on Anzac Parade, between Sturt Street and Botany Street and are aiming to complete this by early April. You can find more information on the Randwick City Council website.

To assist our members, the Juniors in Kingsford will be hosting a Community Forum on Wednesday 29th March (information will be provided by ALTRAC Light Rail and Transport NSW) where you will have the opportunity to talk to key members of the project team and ask questions in regards to changes to roads, traffic and parking during construction.

If you can’t attend this Community Forum, TransportNSW will be providing an Information Hub in the foyer of the Juniors in Kingsford on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd April where you will have the opportunity to find out more.

Please make sure you register to receive our updates via email and follow the Light Rail project on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube.
